Commentators have traditionally identified Qoheleth as Solomon son of David. This contemporary Qoheleth rejects that notion. Solomon may have been the actual author of "Ecclesiastes," but the spirit of Qoheleth differs greatly form the the Solomon of biblical books of Kings and Chronicles. Qoheleth challenges all for which Solomon stood.
