8 If you
see in a province the oppression of the poor and the violation of justice and
right, do not be amazed at the matter; for the high official is watched by a
higher, and there are yet higher ones over them.
Go up the ladder
And you will find corruption
The higher the more
Absolute power
Will corrupt absolutely
What of God’s power
By human control
The oppressed face injustice
Who’s there to help them
How should I respond
Seeing the plight of the poor
More than emotion
We must find wisdom
No fail-safe for poverty
Set up by the rich
The powerful amass wealth leaving the
weak poor.
